My first post :)
Right now my hair is trying to recover with the hormone fluctuations of pregnancy. My curls have become a bit looser and I've lost a ton of hair. I suspect I won't get the curl back until spring when the dews rise again, but at least it seems to have stopped falling out.
My hair seems to need a ton of protein lately. I've been doing weekly protein treatments for the last few weeks and that is helping tremendously. My curls are getting smoother and I'm not dealing with nearly as much frizz. I've had no problems with dryness from the protein. In fact I'm not following my protein treatments with much moisture at all. I'm guess that will change as we get further into winter.
Today I washed with a sulfate free shampoo and did my protein treatment. My hair felt so soft! I used just a little VO5 to detangle, left in a little Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition (GFTN) conditioner, added a little Jojoba oil for frizz prevention and then used Biotera gel. I plopped for about 5 minutes and then sat under my bonnet dryer for 5 minutes. At 90% dry my hair looks okay. Not great, but not bad. As I guessed, the Biotera is not quite strong enough by itself. I've had good results with it over flax-seed gel lately, so I'll keep trying it that way. Probably won't bother with a pic today. Maybe I'll get better results tomorrow.
